Nigel’s first contact with speedway was when he was a young lad, his folks used to crew for Dennis Bolt and Tony Cardwell so being round the track was a natural part of life. When he was old enough he started entering demolition derbies and has done over twenty thru the seasons before deciding to buy a stockcar.
His first foray in to stocks was a rover v8 space frame, which he raced for about six years before buying a Darcy Hunter built Gordge copy Chev 305. A very strong car that has now seen him take out the South Island SuperStock title and finish 9th at the New Zealand champs in the 07/08 season.

Nigel works as a fitter/welder, starting out with irrigators before specialising in agricultural trailers. Custom built from scratch, he makes the largest trailers in the southern hemisphere. Most top level drivers tend to be self-employed but Nigel manages on wages and has proved that he has what it takes to compete at the highest level. Check out more on the BIO page.
